Hmm.....

There's a lot of potential here. What I'm assuming is the chorus should be growled a bit more. Not screamed or anything, but if the singer pushed his voice a little bit more, the vocal melodies there are really good. It actually kind of reminds me of the vocal delivery in some songs by Staind, which is odd with a punk song lol. But, you know what the heart of real punk is, just by listening to this. Simple, heartfelt, and fun. Can't wait to hear what happens if/when you redo this :D

Moon-Shadow responds:

Our singers voice was a little shot before this song was recorded, but I don't understand what you mean by growl. Like sing it lower or something?
Whatever but Brad (the singer) has a bit of a high voice so I don't think a growl would work.

Thanks for the input!

Love The Piano Melodies!

That higher, real piano sound at the beginning and the end was amazing! I wish there would have been more of it, but I still like how each minute seems to highlight a different sound. Feels like some manner of afterparty, which suits the title really well. It gets a tad repetitive due to some of the background sounds, but it's still very impressive.

ID-N responds:

thanx you got it!!!
its sometimes a bit repetitive sure
in future i will do that better
glad u like this one

If You're Not Already

You need to be selling and/or promoting albums of your work. Every song I've heard from you is inexplicably perfect. Love it!

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Yeah, i wish i was selling, I've been doing some promoting here and there, doing some shows around town. I've been trying to put together an album / get on a label. Its awesome to hear that you really like my tunes! It drives me further! Thank you.

Amazing!

People like you remind me that IDM and glitch really can be amazing subgenres. This is how stuff like this should be done! The drums should be thick and intense, but not the focal point, not aggressive, and the melodies should be written around natural sounding instruments. The layers and layers to hear here are great, and I love the spoken word bits. One of the coolest tracks I've found on NG. VERY good work!

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Thanks alot for your rev iew! It was great. You pose a great point. I try to work on each layer on its own. I like everything to be equally balanced and well heard when it needs to be, panning, etc. Need to fill each corner of space with harmony. Its taken such a long time to finally get that balance! I wish i could record in surround sound. This is one of my favorite songs and one of the ones i put the most passion into. Thank you for your kind words.

Keep listening. : )

I want to do inappropriate things to the bassline

the basswork is sexy as hell lol. Is this programming or real instruments? Very short song, but that's how it should be. Very well played and/or programmed :D

SWiTCH responds:

Thanks!
It's all real except for the drums.

Very 80's, Very New-Wave, With a Tinge of Jazz

I can't give this a proper listen now, but I'll say the glitchy noises paired with the guitar are great, and I LOVE the bass. Very heavy without being overpowering. Thanks for the heads up on this one!

DomesticTerrorist responds:

No problem, I appreciate the review! :D

mmmminimal

It's fun, but very sparse and thin/quiet, even for ambient music. Not horrible by any means, just so light that it's hard to get too into. Still, it's very relaxing, which should be the real point of any ambient piece. The best quality here is that the drums weren't overbearing, but I still think you could bring that lead line up a bit on the volume. Still, good stuff :D

SteakPhish responds:

Constructive feedback, thanks

Nothing Pressing to Say, But . . .

That kick drum is WAY too strong for those little bells. They're gorgeous and it makes my head hurt straining to hear them in headphones over that big nasty drum. Still, really good.

vai90 responds:

You think so? I myself think the drum is pretty harmless.^^
Anyways, thx for the review!

Reminds me of the danzig parodies on youtube

ROFLMFAO! The lyrics are hilarious, and the music just feels like it belongs in a Vegas show. Of course, I did get a really hilarious image of it having a place in a Cowboy Bebop episode lol. This is hilarious stuff. Good work

Bezo responds:

Damn...I do sorta sound like Danzig in this.

Awesome!

It seemed like it was hiccupping a bit at the end, but I may just have my speakers too quiet to be certain. Either way, this reminded me of good nights when I was working in a darkroom for a photography class. The bluesy acoustic guitar is a perfect touch here, but it would have been fine without it. Personally, I wish I could just throw a bunch of scratching on this though lol. There are parts where the drums get a tad glitchy and it'd be awesome for this. Meh, maybe if I ever get my turntables fixed, I'll just thow some on for my own personal enjoyment lol. Still, this is really good; it's got me going through your whole gallery after this :D.

DomesticTerrorist responds:

Thanks! I didn't even think about adding scratches... it would probably fit pretty nicely too... thanks for the suggestion I might mess around with it!
