Definitely Better!

There's a lot more going on here than the original version. It's not as relaxing, but it still has this great, atmospheric feel to it. I can't believe it's not reached at least a 4 in the score dept. Very old-school, kinda Prince-esque, but still really sweet in a retro way :D.

Very Relaxing

Reminds me of good trancish stuff by moby. The layers of synths work so well with the simple beat. It's cool to have a song that doesn't require too much thought, and yet it isn't too repetitive. I really wish the last 10 seconds were longer, so I hope this finds its way into something longer!

Very close but

you left out a few notes in the hook, which made it sound REALLY off balance. I'm sure that was an attempt to make this your own, which normally I'd respect and admire, but it was kind of distracting and it made it seem like the tempo was changing all weird. A very original take on this, nonetheless. I was impressed

I Normally Hate Trance

But I'd definitely dance to this in a club. The synth work here is great. Much more subtle and intelligent than the usual squeeling, screeching keys you'd find on most NG trance. You did good!

If You're Not Already

You need to be selling and/or promoting albums of your work. Every song I've heard from you is inexplicably perfect. Love it!

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Yeah, i wish i was selling, I've been doing some promoting here and there, doing some shows around town. I've been trying to put together an album / get on a label. Its awesome to hear that you really like my tunes! It drives me further! Thank you.

Amazing!

People like you remind me that IDM and glitch really can be amazing subgenres. This is how stuff like this should be done! The drums should be thick and intense, but not the focal point, not aggressive, and the melodies should be written around natural sounding instruments. The layers and layers to hear here are great, and I love the spoken word bits. One of the coolest tracks I've found on NG. VERY good work!

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Thanks alot for your rev iew! It was great. You pose a great point. I try to work on each layer on its own. I like everything to be equally balanced and well heard when it needs to be, panning, etc. Need to fill each corner of space with harmony. Its taken such a long time to finally get that balance! I wish i could record in surround sound. This is one of my favorite songs and one of the ones i put the most passion into. Thank you for your kind words.

Keep listening. : )

Sad

It's pitiful how few people are really understanding such masterful music. Maybe if they can't hear the art, they should stop trying lol

Not That Bad, But...

This deserves better than a 1.8 score. It is a bit poorly produced, but I have no room to talk. My complaint is that two bass voices is too much and the vocals ARE a tad too quiet. I think the synths could either be played an octave up or with a different voice altogether. The driving bassline is pretty sweet and the drums create a very dark mood very well, so this definitely has potential. At about 1:50, the singer's voice TOTALLY cracks for a bit too. That's kinda a big deal lol. Still, definite potential here. Don't be too discouraged by the crap votes!

I want to do inappropriate things to the bassline

the basswork is sexy as hell lol. Is this programming or real instruments? Very short song, but that's how it should be. Very well played and/or programmed :D

SWiTCH responds:

Thanks!
It's all real except for the drums.

Other Voters Are Lame!

This isn't phenomenal (there could be alot more going on), but it's still very relaxing and well layered. A score below 3.5 isn't fair at all. Rather emotional, so it could be great for some scenes or games. Would be fun to see in a puzzle game or even a shooter.
