Very difficult, but very rewarding. I loved the atmosphere, the tension, and the updated homage to a long-ago classic. My only real gripe pertains to how VERY sensitive the controls are. In some rooms, such as the one in which there are monsters jutting out of the walls, it takes very precise movements to make it through the corridors alive, sometimes. Beyond that though, very satisfying once I finally worked out all of the puzzles. Bravo!

Holy exponential jump in difficulty after the second level, Batman!
Seriously, you had my interest really built up after the first two levels, but I spent nearly half an hour on the third level and found it much too frustrating. Excellent concept, laughably painful execution.

Beautiful design, great concept, and great music, but after all of the effort it took to actually BEAT the darn thing, the total lack of an ending was a real slap in the face.

Not bad. I discovered a glitch that made me extra money though, so it kind of made the difficulty not so drastic. As a word to other players, I would encourage you to immediately invest in whatever the next weapon is, regardless of how well you've upgraded the previous one EXCEPT for the sniper rifle. It proves almost useless against the thicker hordes; the rocket launcher is a better investment.

Again, DO NOT waste your time on the sniper rifle, fellow players. The reload time is too lengthy, and shots do not penetrate multiple enemies.

Very difficult in some areas, but not impossible. The music and the visual style were very good fits for the gameplay.

Fairly hard on the normal difficulty, and way too easy on the simpler one. I don't have any glaring specific gripes aside from the difficulty and the repetitiveness of the music. Controls could have been slightly looser, but it is what it is.

Difficulty balancing has to be the biggest game design problem I've ever encountered. I watched this one guy play my game and he was absolutely horrible at it and couldn't get past the first area, so Chill Mode was based on that. I've also seen and heard from people who got through Normal mode without too much frustration. So I'm in this state where I want to please people of all skill levels but I haven't quite figured out how yet. I could add another difficulty level but that may just complicate things more; like, how would you know which one to select?

Thanks for your feedback.

Not so much hard as it is poorly designed. Really, a game like this shouldn't have moments that are impossible, but the controls render certain obstacles guaranteed killers. If one is faced with two obstacles back to back, one cannot slash and jump at the same time, nor can a player double jump over two spike pits. The cruelest of all is a wall immediately on the other side of a pit, so that, even if a player can make the jump, he or she is still going to hit something as soon as the knight lands.
Brilliant idea, quick and straightforward, but poor execution. Revisit it, clean it up, and make a proper sequel.

Could have been much better if the game was actually synced to the song appropriately. I kept wanting to hit keys in time to the song, but they were seldom in step with one another.

The whole "you can slash the barrels" thing is not incredibly intuitive, and would have saved me a LOT of trouble overall.
I'm saddened and frustrated, as I was doing quite well, only to lose all of my progress after the game froze. Now I'm on a completely different save, with about 1/7 of the score I had, and all of my items are gone. WTF?
I may come back to this another time, but right now, I'm feeling pretty burned.

Hypnohustler responds:

I feel you. Flash player doesn't seem to like my game all the time.

Game goes very smoothly until about the 15th level, then takes a massive leap in difficulty. Incredibly promising concept, but that jump is just too severe.
